Nepal, a relatively small country sandwiched between
Tibet in the north and India in the south, is one of
the most ancient countries in the world. Before
1951, it was not possible for visitors and tourists
to enter without special permission. Since then
tourism has flourished, becoming a valuable source
of income for the local people.
Trekking groups and individual tourists are
attracted to the richness and variety of scenic
beauty not found anywhere else in the world.
Nepal is famous for it's peaceful blend of Hindu
temples and Buddhist stupas, it's rich art and
architecture, bronze statuaries and of course it's
spectacular mountains. Nepal contains eight of the
ten highest peaks in the world. The Gautama Buddha
born in Nepal, left the world a philosophy of peace,
tolerance and compassion and today, his philosophy
epitomises the nature, the feeling, the soul of
Nepal. |
