overland tours is the one that almost
visitors uses. As per our past
experience in the subject field a 8 day
trip to Kathmandu - Lhasa or vice versa
is the tour that fulfils your desire to
see this remote and inaccessible land of
the world.
One of the great road
journeys in the world - overland from
Nepal (Kathmandu) to Lhasa through the
several high passes, including Gyatso La
17,300 ft, with impressive views of the
Himalayan peaks including Mt. Everest.
Driving across the vast and wild
expansion of the land you will visit the
isolated towns of Shegar, Shigatse and
Gyantse before arriving to the capital
Lhasa. You will spend two full days
exploring the city with visit some
biggest Monasteries including Sera and
Drepung. Finally you'll be flying with a
breathtaking trans-Himalayan flight from
Lhasa to
Kathmandu across the high
Himalayan passes having the great views
of the most spectacular section of the
Himalayas. The flight is considered as
probably the best mountain flight in the
world.
Tibet a place for the traveler to cast
away any preconceptions you may have and
join in the journey of discovery along

Itinerary |
Day 01 Flight from Kathmandu to
Gongkar airport (arrival at 13:40 PM
Chinese time),
transfer to Tsetang (120 KM), rest
in Hotel for Acclimatization O/N
Friendship Hotel.
Day 02 Morning visit Yambulakang
palace, the earliest building in Tibet,
Samye Monastery. Afternoon drive to
Lhasa (220 KM) Overnight at Shambala or
Xungbala Hotel.
Day 03 Morning visit Potala
Palace that was firstly built by
Songtsen Gompo (the first Tibetan ruler)
Afternoon visit Jokhang temple (the most
sacred temple in Tibet) and Barkhor
street.
Day 04 Morning visit Drepung
monastery that is about 8 KM west from
Lhasa. Drepung means " rice - mound",
was founded in 1416 by Jamyang Choje
Tashi Palden. Afternoon visit Sera
monastery (one of the three great
Gelukpa monasteries near Lhasa).
Day 05 Early morning
transfer to the Gongkar airport (100 KM)
and fly to KTM

transfer to the Hotel (100KM.) Afternoon
acclimatization.
Day 02: Morning visit
Yongbulakhong palace and Changdu
monastery. Afternoon visit Tibet kings
Tombs.
Day 03: Drive
from Tsetang to Gyantse, picnic lunch at
Yamdrok lake and Overnight at Gyantse
(340 KM)
Day 04: Morning- visit Kumbum and
Pelkor chode Monastery at Gyantse.
Afternoon- drive to Shigatse(100 KM) and
visit Tashilhunpo monastery.
Day 05: Drive from Shigatse to
Lhasa (270 KM).
Day 06: Morning- visit Potala
Palace. Afternoon- visit Sera Monastery.
Day 07: Morning visit Jokhang
temple and Bakhor Street. Afternoon
visit Drepung monastery.
Day 08: Transfer to the airport
(100 KM) and fly out. |
